Came here with the most discerning of Indian food critics, who live in NY.
    They loved it.
Definitely the best quality Indian food in DC- especially for the price point.
Yes- it's a smaller space. (Hope they expand!)
Yes- it stays busy and there is a wait during dinner.
    No- they don't take reservations.
Yes- the sound system is good (can hear people talk even though the music is playing)
Yes- the service should be improved.

But the food alone will have you coming back. No skimping. Great flavors. Delicious.

    Definitely don't miss the biryani!

Excellent food for a reasonable price, in a fun and unpretentious atmosphere. I only docked a star because the service was pretty slow. It's popular, so they pack in as many people as possible. Which means that I ended up sitting basically in the hallway about three feet away from the bathroom.

Busy Indian place that doesn't take reservations. Food is very good and reasonable. Their Toli is large and can feed 3 people if you've also ordering an appetizer or two, so order accordingly.

I went in with a group of 7 and they were able to find us a spot in just half an hour. The owner was friendly and briefly came to our table and chatted with us. The entrees were a good portion and some of our group ended up taking the food home.

The place is also very metro accessible and is just 3 blocks from the Columbia heights metro.

Located in Columbia Heights of DC, this new restaurant provides a glimpse into the flavors of India by way of their robust menu. However, during busy times of the day, don't expect to find parking easily. Patrons in this neighborhood are relegated to parallel parking - if there's space available.

That's not the restaurant's responsibility though. Walking in, you'll see a bar and booths with decent lighting, talkative staff, and the wonderful smell of Bombay street food. The hostess masterfully directs the hordes of customers, and proactively responds to questions.

The food then arrives at the table rapidly. The meat was tender, the sauces spiced with heat and fragrance, and the naan well seasoned with garlic. But, a couple sprinkles of salt may have done the naan justice, but otherwise it complimented the food well. Lastly, when the plates say anything about being spicy, BELIEVE it. It's important to note that the heat didn't mask the flavor of the food though.

Overall, I can see why this place is always packed. The ambiance is good for both dates or a casual hangout, the food was delicious, and the service was quick and helpful.

Hands down the best Indian I’ve had in the city. It’s spicy and full of delicious flavor. The prices on drinks and food are also very reasonable. This will definitely be my go to spot when I want Indian.
