We popped in on a spur of the moment whim after visiting the convention center.
Arrived around 3 on a Saturday..
Total newbies... the staff was incredibly inviting and courteous..
The establishment was very clean and modern looking..
The main side order/salads bar was beautiful and stocked full with fresh foods.
We were seated only 10 feet from the salad bar and could not wait to dig in.
Our waiter explained to options and how to get the best from or visit..
He suggested the Brazilian Lemonade which was so good.. I highly recommend that as your beverage.. very refreshing after a long day of walking in the convention center.
We enjoyed to pregame salads but I quickly turned my card to green and began the onslaught of meats.. everything was fresh hot and cooked to my liking.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and total atmosphere.
It was a once in a lifetime dining experience.
First off, the food is great. You definitely get a good amount of food for the price that you pay and all of the food is DELICIOUS. However, go for dinner. Even though it’s a little more expensive, it’s worth it. Some of the waiters were nice, but others treated us like an inconvenience. I felt like we were being forced out of the restaurant before when even sat down. I understand that it’s necessary to have a clean up time to set up for dinner, but make sure that you don’t allow people to set a reservation for as late as 2:30. The manager or one of the higher ups was very rude and made it seem like he did not want us there.
Anywho, it was a good day in DC.
This place can fluctuate between good and great, and there is a huge difference here. If your dinner happened to be on a busy night, you will get the slower service but the better meat. If it were a slow night, it’s basically the opposite. The thing is when they are busy, the large meat “skewers” get some good turnover and you can guarantee fresher meat and also wider diversity. That said, the salad bar is always great. Expect your meal to be on the expensive side though, especially if you are not a big eater.
I had the Chilean Sea Bass b/c I couldn't eat all that meat. Delicious! Had a bite of lamb and it was good too. The salad bar had a good variety of delicacies as well. The smoked salmon was my favourite. And the cheesecake was everything you'd want in a cheesecake.
