Amazing atmosphere, perfect for taking a date after dinner if you still want to talk and be at a bar

A&D is a fun neighborhood bar with great nachos and drink specials. Visited after many years away on a night when they ran out of chili, so the pic is of their epic nachos without meat. Still worth it. Other food includes French bread pizza, wings, a ballpark pretzel, and standard bar pickings (nuts, “spicy mix”) and the very non-standard jar of gummy bears.

I love A&D and their sister bar in Park View, Union Drinkery. Both have the feel of a friendly neighborhood dive bar, but also an interesting craft cocktail menu. Prices are reasonable, and the happy hour - until 8, even on weekends - is unheard of in Shaw. A&D is primarily a drinks spot - they have some bar snacks, the most substantial of which are nachos and french bread pizza, but no dinner menu to speak of, so I wouldn't come here expecting to dine.

Bartenders know what they're doing. French bread pizza and nachos are a must after a few cocktails.

Happy hour goes until 8pm.
