Second time to visit. food is very good and consistent. Was disappointed about lack of free refills on the Ice-Tea, especially at $2.49 per serving, Plus there were free refills on coffee. They should let customers know when ordering. Seems odd for a southern themed restaurant.
Disappointed. I ordered the half chicken platter for dinner. The fried chicken itself was delicious and I have no complaints. The namesake biscuit was just not very good. It was dense and tasted like unincorporated flour, seems as though the dough was too dry and it may not have been leavened enough. The Mac and Cheese side was curdled as you can see in the picture. Tasted just okay.
Food is great but pretty pricey for breakfast items thus the minus 1 star. The other star missing was not once but 2 different times they completely messed up my order and gave me food with missing items...like a fried chicken classic with no fried chicken. I still recommended this place to a friend because the food is still good and the hospitality is really welcoming and warm. That friend that took my recommendation also had her food order messed up...not once, not twice but three times before giving up and they still didn't get her order right on the third try. After all that I still go here but double check your items before you walk out the door and always get a receipt.
Delicious! Some of the best biscuits I’ve ever had and the chicken sandwich is fabulous. The staff is super friendly. I also loved the signs on the table telling us how to handle our trash. I wish more restaurants did this so I wasn’t sitting there wondering whether to look like a jerk for leaving my stuff on the table or wandering around like a dummy looking for a place to toss it!
I always have a great meal at Mason Dixie. My all-time favorite is the club dark meat chicken sandwich...chicken is moist, biscuit has the right texture and the ranch is yummy! For the sides, my go-to is the cheesy grits and the seasonal sweet potato dish.
The service at Mason Dixie is always excellent, the cashiers are welcoming and the staff brings your food super fast and with a smile; they even buss the table for you :)
Can't wait to get my chicken fix this weekend!
