Went for a birthday celebration outside of baseball season and had a great time. Sat in the backroom with a great atmosphere and decor. Had some great oysters, and great seafood meals. Everything was really well done and balanced. Ended on a great dessert. Would definitely recommend as quality seafood, and great service.

My wife and I have been here countless times as we live in Navy Yard and this is one of the best overall places in the neighborhood. The Salt Line offers a wide variety of fresh and locally sourced seafood along with a variety of rotating items created by their wonderful chef. We have brought our families from out of town here multiple times. My mother grew up in New England and thought it was the best seafood she’s had outside of the region. High praise indeed.

The Salt Line is fantastic during the summer months as you can enjoy their outdoor bar which is right on the river. All drinks and menu items are available outdoors as well which is great. Awesome place to come and grab a round or two before or after a Nats game as well. If it’s winter time and you want to enjoy the outdoors, you are in luck! They open the outdoor bar accompanied by heaters during the colder months as well.

Overall, The Salt Line is truly top notch. I’ve never had a single dish that wasn’t fantastic. The selection of local drafts and craft cocktails is fantastic. Truly one of the gems of Navy Yard and all of DC.

Our meals were fantastic. The NE clam chowder was a lighter broth both full of richness and flavor. The fish was super fresh and delicious and the lobster roll generously prepared. The staff, from the hostesses to the waitstaff to the kitchen, were all friendly and super accommodating (dietary restrictions). Great find!

Fantastic place for seafood. Wide variety of fresh oysters and fish and good drinks, perfect for brunch/lunch. Beautiful interior, outside seating available. Service is fast and friendly and they try to accommodate all your needs and extra wishes. Only negative: while the oysters were fantastic, the mussels weren't that good (as were the eggs, but hey it's not a diner). Prepare for a bigger check, but that can be expected as it is an upscale place.
