Taqueria del Barrio

This is my favorite happy hour in the city. The chicken mole nachos, wings, quesadillas and margaritas are the perfect way to start or end my week. Levi and Chris always keep me laughing, and anywhere I can have a shrimp or fish taco that I can’t eat without proclaiming THIS IS AMAZING... gets 5 stars in my book.

Comfortable neighborhood place w/friendly bar and good service. Lots of creative taco options, though non-taco dishes aren't the most vegetarian friendly. Ask for their extra spicy habanero salsa!

I have been to this restaurant at least three times and order from them regularly. Originally one of my favorite place for Mexican food, I am now disappointed that they have messed up my order on multiple times occasions. When I brought this to the manager's attention, he flippantly wrote me off stating that he didn't have time to deal with the situation because a major event was getting ready to begin. I still continued to patronize, but after they messed up my order again, I have decided that I will likely not be returning to this establishment. Best of luck to them.

Great place for cocktails and snacks after work. Super friendly staff. Awesome tacos and the elderflower cocktail was enchanting with a little kick.

I've had to lower my rating from 5 star to 4 star. The reasoning is the price of drinks compared to the amount you get to drink. There are many other Mexican style restaurants in the are and all of them serve drinks for the same price or less and that are much bigger. When it's a Friday evening and I want margaritas and taco, that is definitely something I take into consideration and usually end up at one of the 14th St locations instead. The drinks at Taqueria del Barrio are very good, the sizes and prices are not, however. The food is great.
