Best Sushi close to Georgetown!! So far we always found a spot without making a reservation, it could be a problem though to certain hours. Sitting upstairs is much nicer than downstairs. Love it!
Lovely staff, nice couple of beers available, clean place. All important, sure. What really matters though, is the fish. I tend to eat sashimi, so freshness matters. The fish here is some of the freshest, most flavorful fish I've ever had. If you're looking for sushi around Georgetown, find this little place with the tiny sign on the canal. So worth it.
Really good sushi at reasonable prices on the canal. The rolls are surprisingly good, especially the black dragon roll and volcano roll. The rolls are somewhat Americanized with with tempura and avocado, but that's also part of what makes them so good! For a more authentic Japanese taste, the a la carte sushi is quite good, though I would have liked some wasabi in the sushi. But I can't complain with such good food for such a reasonable price in such a great location. Easily 5 stars compared to many other DC options. Really enjoyed our meal there!
A hidden gem tucked away in Georgetown near the canal, this place offers quality sushi with no frills. Don't expect to be awed with presentation or fancy accoutrements, this place focuses on what is important and strictly makes sushi and makes it very well. This is a refreshing change of pace from most places in Georgetown which charge an arm and a leg for something fancy that really is just window dressing. Bluefin, however, has reasonable prices for their satisfying cuisine. Next time you're in Georgetown and need a quick lunch, skip the fancy places and come here instead.
I was wandering around the canal area, trying to figure out what I wanted to eat. I saw Bluefin Sushi on Google maps and based on the reviews I thought I'd give it a try. I chose the "Sushi Gold" menu selection which came with a variety of things to try - tuna, eel, octopus, and so on. The prices are reasonable and they have good beer and sake available. The rice had a good flavor, but unfortunately, the fish was hit or miss. I had a few excellent pieces, some average pieces, and some pieces that weren't bad, but were developing a hint of an acrid smell and taste (not fresh). I didn't feel it was unsafe to eat, but was disappointed. The service was friendly and timely.
