I was at the museum this Thanksgiving Day, a beautiful experience all the way around. I went to the cafe and had three sides, collard greens, coleslaw and candied yams. The collard greens were just right for me since I am vegan and didn't want any pork in them. They also were not too greasy. There were two different coleslaws, one with mayonnaise and the other vinegar-based which is the one I preferred. The candied yams were a little too sweet for me, but still delicious. Everything else there looked appetizing and I would not hesitate to try something else if I go to the museum again.
I loved the choices on the menu although our group was disappointed with lack of seasoning. The waffles had additional items and the plantains were very hard and hardly any yams. My ribs were so dry and hard. Baked beans were hard, those should be easy!! Black eyed peas were mushy and no seasoning. Shrimp and grits were very good. Collard greens were good. Menu was great, quality control is lacking.
Delicious doesn’t seem adequate to describe our meal here. A fun cafeteria style venue, with several different stations offering completely different choices. The fried chicken and bbq brisket are choices you can’t go wrong with.
I loved the theme and the food was delicious!
The implementation of the Regions was well thought out. I was there in March 2018 and the Museum was awesome! I'm still reflecting. That's why I'm heading back next month and plan to visit the cafe after the tour.
