Arrived on an unplanned Saturday evening around 6:30. Wait time for a table was about two hours. Bar seating is open. We, party of two, stalked patrons at the bar and commandeered seats after about 40 minutes. Food was flavorful and served family style. Lots of hearty rice noodles options with vegetarian choices. The drinks were sumptuous. Due to open space design noise level could be quite high.
We went after dinner for a drink on a Friday night and the place was pretty lively all around the bar and at the tables. We found a spot near the wall at the bar to grab some drinks, and also ended up getting a few food menu items. The bartenders were awesome, helpful with drinks and just overall friendly and happy to be there! The drink with the burnt cinammon stick is amazing - though we can never remember what it's called!
One of the food items we ordered was the bubble waffle ice cream. The first time it came out, honestly, it was inedible. The waffle could barely be cut into and the ice cream flavor was beyond weird. Our bartender not only immediately took it away upon notifying him, he also immediately went to inform the kitchen staff. He totally didn't have to do that, but wow what service. The kitchen manager came over to address the situation, and brought over a fresh dessert (waffle quality much more fresh) and a different ice cream. We did not expect such service recovery in a bar, so it was super refreshing.
Best restaurant and atmosphere for Chinese food in the area. To date nothing can compare. Highly recommended if you like good quality food.
I would give the restaurant deco and mood a five star, but the food. The food is trying too hard to be mainstream hipster, if that is a description, to be good. Innovative cocktail recipe that looks interesting on paper, but not really good tasting either. Meh, go for the mood I guess.
Wow what a fun date place. If you have a reservation the host will not seat you until my whole group was there. I have friends who are always late so I knew this would an issue. I decided to sit at the bar and order food while I waited. My friend and I stayed at the bar since we got comfortable. The food was decent. I was not terribly impressed with the dumplings they were extremely greasy but overall tasty. The server was friendly and helpful. The drinks were the reason for me to come back. Great place to come for a cocktail and light bite.
