Delicious! Chawamushi, kabocha squash and marshmallow dessert were my favorites. Nice cocktails that complement the food well.
Great atmosphere and food. Friendly staff. Food is decent and cocktails are solid.
It's a lot like many other small plate, unique restaurant experiences in DC. That isn't a bad review - just being honest. Food was all very good, authentic Japanese, carefully curated, and expertly explained by the staff. As a 6'2" guy, I assume I'll leave all these places hungry, and this is no exception. If you're into something new, undeniably unique, and high quality, I recommend it.
The flavor at this place is amazing and so are the prices. They have a dining area on the first floor and a bar in the basement. Now the food taste great but it is not too filling. This place is best for drinks and tapas style food.
Great new place. Nice atmosphere. Good food. Music from my college years. DO NOT miss the toasted marshmallow with grilled sesame paste. I do not even like marshmallows but this is delicious. Planning a trip back to have another! Good beer selection and sake served correctly, over flowing in a wooden box. Japanese anime films being shown downstairs with "Spam sandwiches" to go with--seaweed, rice, egg, Turkey bacon---very good.
