If you are in DC, this is one of the quintessential places to visit, whether you are an art lover or a foodie. This location has a combo to whet your appetite and interest. They don’t take reservation so you may want to get there on time to join the queue to get a table. Once you do, it doesn’t take long before you receive your order.

What makes this place interesting is, it has a library/bookstore in the same location and they apparently do art events such as poetry and spoken work on different days.

Relaxing and most people are very friendly. Some more than others. But that is the way it is in most places. They make gorgeous lattes, frozen cappuccinos and some great cheese platters and beautiful salads. You can build the salads yourself. They're excellent. I rarely eat meat outside my home because of the type of meat I eat. So I'm not a vegetarian, but unless I can find a restaurant that serves halal, I eat at home. But Tryst is a comfortable place to come to for hot or cold drinks. Sit back and enjoy.

An incredible meal at a reasonable price. You cannot resist this hipster dive with healthy food and an atmosphere ripe for conversation. I was amused by the ecclectic seating options and local artists art on the wall - for sale no less. The server was appropriately attentive and precise with the order. I enjoyed a stroll around the book / gift shop after the meal. Highly recommend!

There was saying long wait so I highly recommend going early (not sure if they take reservations). The service was a little bit slow. The food was pretty good. The coffee was burnt (even the second refill cup). Pretty reasonable pricing and the staff was nice. It's pretty cool they have a bookstore attached to the restaurant.

My friend and I loved spending some time for brunch here. The place is huge with lovely decor, especially in the back. It has a bustling, young vibe. We both got omelettes and were pleased by the food. The cappuccino was not my favorite, but overall the food was great. Good variety of food. Service was good. Prices are reasonable. And it was fun to take a look at their books. Definitely recommend.
