food is yummy
This is a fun and different place. Another spot (like Sonoma) which offers appetizer portions at dinner. Love it. The wait staff is fun (one night I went was a going away celebration for a server and the whole staff was dressed like circus freaks -- too funny). The menu is organic, which is great, and varies based on what the kitchen is featuring. Pizzas are fantastic ... loved the spicey one with lamb on it... the "saraceno" (lamb sausage, smoked mozzarella, spicy moroccan sundried tomato harissa ... spicey, but what a great mix of flavors). Pastas are really fresh and feature unusual pairings. I also had the Wild North Carolina Amberjack filet was amazing. Last time I was there we had the calzone di nutella, which was pizza dough stuffed with chocolate hazelnut filling. Oh my. This was divine. I don't know if I can go back and not order this um ever.
A cute little Italian pizzeria that is perfect for a smart casual dinner. Waitstaff is very attentive and the wine selection is remarkable. The prices are a bit steep but if you buy into the organic schtick well worthy it.
Some of the pizzas can be a bit greasy, but that grease is oozing out of the spectacularly tasty things that are on it. Just soak it up with a napkin if it bothers you & then sink your teeth in- this pizza is *good* and tends to be what I refer to as "fancy pizza". Great service- every time I find myself chatting with the waiter. I love the fresh oregano, though sometimes they charge for it. The dim lighting can sometimes be a bit too dark, but overall I love the atmosphere.
