Fun cocktail bar with a warm vibe.
The food comes from the kitchen of 1789. The pheasant ballotine with foie gras was delicious. The tempura calamari, as noted by another reviewer, is small in size but equally delicious.
Fitzgerald's is recently opened cocktail-centric bar and restaurant in Georgetown. The restaurant was decorated with football prints and other sports memorabilia. When we booked a table for 8, they gave us two tables of four in a private area. The seating was nice and lounge-like and the service was excellent. Our party enjoyed the drinks including the Pomegranate Apple Cosmopolitan, Strawberry Pisco Sour, Hemingway Daiquiri, and Brown Butter Old Fashioned. We shared Herbed Truffle Fries, Truffle Arancini, Tempura Calamari, and American Wagyu Tartare. The truffle flavor in fries and arancini were light. The calamari rings were crispy but so tiny and thin when compared to the jalapenos. The American Wagyu Tartare was delicious. Two of the guests had the Peking Duck Burger but they said it was nothing special. Overall, most guests felt that the food menu was pretty limited. The chef should consider adding more vegetarian options as well as a chicken and/or pork chop to the menu. The bill came in a colorful cigar box.
New favorite spot in the District! The staff is very friendly, the food is unique yet familiar, and the drinks are simply exceptional. The perfect night begins and ends at fitzgeralds!
