The restaurant is a gem for the street. It is consistently phenomenal (food and service). The loudness of the restaurant is a bit too high for something romantic. Definitely a go to when I'm thinking of places to go. When it's nice weather they open up the place and it is really a treat.
Fantastic food and service, always come here on a Washington trip and Le Diplomat never disappoint.
Waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu and there is a sommelier available too.
Cozy vibe and great atmosphere. Good for groups and conversations too. Recommended to book ahead as it can get busy.
Absolute delicious dishes, all French staples and so hard to chose only one. Onion soup was perfect. All portions are large, ingredients fresh and the staff are ultimate professionals who are attentive and genuine.
The restaurant was packed when we left and I can understand why -- it's a great restaurant for a special meal and worth every cent.
We had a special occasion meal...and Le Diplomate did not disappoint. We had seven people in our group. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was impeccable. I tried to throw a couple of "curve balls" as a challenge but they handled everything with ease. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Attentive wait staff, amazing service. Every dish that could have come out split were split so that we didn't have to dig our saliva-laden fork/spoon into other person's food.
The food itself was good as well. I don't know if it was out of this world good, but still really good.
