Food was delicious. The space was not as expected. Google pics may be for a different location or venue. The photos I seen had a much larger space a bar etc. Even the outdoor photos of the building placed the restaurant in a different location than it actually was I'm not sure if this is due to it having moved locations. The actual venue has a fewer seats. I ordered to go due to the limited space. The staff was very professional and accommodating. I will definitely return but more than likely for a Togo order again.
I love milk and honey & my go to is the smothered chicken & biscuit cause it never misses. Friend ordered the blackened salmon & grits.
My only surprise is the size of this place. I've frequent the restaurant which has someone to seat you. Additionally somehow the neighboring restaurant photos are mixed in this review. Please note the word Cafe so think coffee shop so you'll have to find a seat for yourself or group.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food selection was great and our meals came out quickly. We got the Rumchata French toast, which was fluffy and delicious, but the star was the shrimp and grits. I cannot sing enough praises for this dish. It was so creamy, so flavorful, and more than enough food to share or for leftovers. It was absolutely worth every penny. The staff were wonderful and we will definitely be returning.
This location is a lot smaller than the others and we were a bit confused regarding seating. We were told that seating was first come first served (self seating). We ordered our food and just waited for a table to open up. The food overall was really good. I would recommend a host for busy days like Sundays especially when most people are out for brunch.
I visited the location recently and tried the "Jumbo Smothered Chicken and Biscuits." When I say FLAVORFUL... this is an understatement. From the biscuits, to the eggs, chicken and added turkey sausage. Everything was seasoned well and tasted really good. The wait time was not bad considering that they prepare the food fresh. Really enjoyed the small establishment I visited on H Street. 10/10 would go again.
