Soul Wingz @ Howard University

Tried Soul Wingz for the 1st time last night. The line was out the door 5 minutes after they opened, so I knew the chicken had to be good. I ordered the whole wings with the Soul flavor. The wings we super fresh, hot and tender. They were seasoned to perfection and nice and crispy. I’ve been on a quest to find great fried chicken in this city and last night Soul Wingz ended my quest!!! My son loved them too and he’s a picky eater. He asked me if we could go back next week. “Yup, we sure can!”

So. I REALLY loved this place. Probably would have given it 5 stars but the yams weren't A1. Everything else was slamming. We were bringing our kid to Howard and decided to check this place out. The atmosphere was real cool. Had R&B jamming. Loved the energy of the owners and their little girl. Wife and son had the chicken and shrimp quesadillas. Huge portions! I had fried whiting and mac and cheese and yams. Them teas, lemonade, fruit punch mix-- bomb! I judge a place by whether I'd go back, and I am going to try either their breakfast tomorrow or their many variety of wings.

EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! I have been talking about Soul Wingz ever since my wife and I went there. I was a little apprehensive because some “soul food” spots either over salt, or don’t season well. The food was perfectly balanced! Kudos to the cooks! The wings were comparably the best I’ve had in a long time…PERFECT!
Jeff was friendly, hospitable, and accommodating! Soul Wingz is now one of my top spots to get great food!

Great soulful music as soon as you walk in the door and a very hospitable staff👌🏾 this quaint little place is definitely serving southern hospitality in the city✊🏾. Best part they are open 24 HOURS!🤯
