This place has pros and cons. The drinks and food are all overpriced and to me, lack authentic flavor having traveled the world and ate at different cafes. The staff can be very dismissive and rude. The server often nags about placement of the number locator stick because they don’t want to walk to find it. The outside smells like marijuana and makes people sick who do not smoke and the staff allows that. The cafe itself has 1-2 good items and not enough vegetarian or vegan friendly options. Honestly, Trader joe’s and whole food had better food! They mess up orders often. Some servers are kind and sometimes, service is excellent. The routine ones are amazing! It is the younger or newer ones that are highly unprofessional and will slam door in your face when you are behind them and have hands full.

I recently visited Tatte Bakery on 14th St in Washington, DC, and had an absolutely delightful experience. Despite being a chain, Tatte Bakery truly stands out with its fresh and delicious food. Every item I tried tasted as if it had just been prepared, with high-quality ingredients and a keen attention to detail.

The bakery's location is excellent, nestled right at the heart of the lively U St and 14th St intersection. The vibrant atmosphere of this bustling area is perfectly complemented by Tatte's wonderful seating arrangements. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a quiet breakfast or a lively place to people-watch while sipping on your coffee, Tatte provides the perfect setting.

Had brunch here with my friends. Overall clean and I like that the music isn’t too loud. Our coffees and chai came out significantly later than our food, but once they came were delicious. Food was good, my friend and I both got a grilled cheese. Her’s was severely undercooked, the cheese was not melted at all and when asked if they could reheat it, they barely did. My grilled cheese was delicious! My other friend got the savory French toast and said it was good.

Good service, good flat white with oat milk.

Tried their sourdough, it is nice, however, turns stale just the next day. Wish it was better as all sourdoughs I’ve had before in Europe.

Puff pastry could be more moist and fresh.
Pistachio croissant disappoint me, no cream, no softness, just pistachio and I think syrup on it… really wish I bought something else instead.

Chocolate roll was nice, so was pecan and cinnamon pastry.

Plenty of space to sit down and work for a while

I love love a great coffee spot and this was top tier!! They have a slew of pastries and the coffee was superb.

The staff was very welcoming and sweet. I was recommended to try the Honey Halva Latte and it was SUPERB I didn’t have to add anything to it. It was smooth and silky and just enough sweet. Definitely give it a try. My friend had the double espresso and she described it as the smoothest espresso she had ever drunk.

We sat outside but there is plenty of seating inside and very clean and refreshing.

    10 out of 10 recommend 🥰🥰😇 Grab a cup!!
