Leonardo's Pizza of Millhopper

Went to school at University of Florida, 40 years ago. Leonardo's pizza was the best I ever had. It STILL is! We split a Big Leo (sausage, peperoni, bell peppers, onion, and mushrooms). It was absolutely DELICIOUS; just like years ago. The pizza is deep dish style. The ingredients are the best, and the overall pizza is outstanding. We always add fresh tomatoes to ours. What a treat! Our server, John, was excelent. We asked how they get the pizza crust up the sides. He brought out a pie, and demonstrated! Obviously, he gets my vite of waiter of the month! Thanks for a great experience!

Leonardo’s was reviewed very well, so we decided to give it a go ourselves. Walking into the restaurant it was dimly lit, very old, and had a particular scent(like an old smell). The salad bar created a traffic jam as we were trying to enter and exit. The service was very friendly and personable. Apart from the poor ambiance of the place, the food was good. The garlic knots/rolls were the star of the show. We ordered a medium bacon and onion pizza. The bacon was good and the cheese & sauce were wonderful, however some of the onions were undercooked and harsh. The crust on the pie had decent texture, but it was very bland & tasted completely unseasoned. I would definitely go back for the garlic knots/rolls & the pleasant service. I bet their calzones are to die for.

The best pizza place in the area. Clean with great ambience. Excellent quick customer oriented service. Great menu at economical pricing. Super daily specials. I usually get a big slice with salad bar and drink at a steal of a deal. The food is excellent. The owner (Greg?) goes around greeting everyone and has a great attitude. Truly five star dining.
