Service was very friendly but a little slow at first but once our order was in, food came out fast! Everything we ordered was awesome! Ordered the New England clam chowder and my Boston born husband loved it! Tons of clams; great flavor! He also had the cranberry walnut salad with grilled chicken. He said the dressing was flavorful and the chicken was very tender and savory! I had the panhandle grilled grouper sandwich with slaw. It was delicious! The sauce was fantastic! Decor was nice and clean.
We really enjoyed our first visit to American Charlie. Started with crispy fried pickles which we both loved. Great onion soup, salad with grilled chicken, and the best burger. Service was fast and friendly. We will definitely return.
Great lunch place. The atmosphere is fun and perfectly done. Very clean and the service was excellent. I had a shrimp and grits and tea. The wife had pulled pork and beans. Really enjoyed the meal and the venue.
Very friendly (the host and server), but food was fine and service was very slow. I got the fried fish basket that comes with tartar sauce, 2 hush puppies, slaw and fries. My husband got a BYOB burger and added cheese and bacon, and fries. The fish was very flaky and good, the coating was tasty, but I think it was a Cajun spice, and under normal circumstances that would’ve been welcomed, but I’m pregnant and didn’t expect the spiciness/heart burn that would then ensue. The hush puppies were also flavorful but spicy, and I didn’t try the slaw since it looked like it was starting to brown. My husband would not have recommended the bacon add on - even though the server said it was good - it definitely resembled microwave bacon. Our two meals with waters was $30.54. We waited almost a solid 15 minutes to grab the server’s attention at the end, and we were going to get a slice of pie, but she just said “thanks darlins” and dropped of the check and left. Then waited another 10-15 minutes to get our card back. We’re not from the area, so it may be worth giving another chance, but we won’t be trying again the next time we visit PCB.
Atmosphere friendly. Got my burger order wrong (ordered rare but got medium - so only ate middle, and requested no garden and got it with nasty pickles), but at least it was juicy and mushrooms were awesome. If you like spicy I don't), you'll LOVE their onion rings! Wish they had non-spicy option - I woulda been in heaven!
