Captain's Table Fish House Restaurant

A local favorite as well as a must visit place for folks passing through. Friendly staff. Great seafood!

We dined at the Captain's Table on a recent visit to Panama City, Florida. We had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a table. The place was packed on a Saturday evening during Labor Day weekend. We liked the fact that there were plenty of benches for sitting and waiting, and once inside the restaurant there was ample room between the tables, so you didn't feel like you were bumping elbows with other patrons. The food was good but not excellent. The best thing that we had was the crab and avocado dip. That was excellent, and I could make a meal of it! Everybody else at the table had various Seafood platters, which they said were good, but not as good as some other places. For my dinner I had the smoked tuna dip, which had a relatively weak smoked flavor. I've had smoked tuna dip at several other places, and although this tuna dip was all right, it was probably the weakest flavored smoked tuna dip I've ever had. It was the same with their key lime pie. The flavor was good, but relatively speaking, it was bland. Our service was good, but there was a period of time when we had need of drink refills, and had to wait quite a while before the waitress came around again. We would eat here again, but it wouldn't be our first choice.

A big crowd of us went today and the food was good. The reason I gave it a three star rating is because the portions were small with several of our meals. For $26, I feel these meals should've been way more generous with the amount of Grouper pieces.

I'll go back but I think I'll start going to Uncle Ernie's after today. The waitress took a really, really long time to take our food orders, so that was bad.

Best seafood I’ve had in the area to date. One of those meals you just really enjoy. Good service, no complaints. There’s a long wait for a reason. We were lucky though and got there just before the big dinner rush. Definitely will be back.

I've heard over the years while living here from locals that the Captain's Table has some of the freshest Seafood in the area. And for all the people that come to visit me here I always told him we should try the Captain's Table if they want Seafood because I don't eat seafood. So I finally got to go and I had a burger which was good and my three guests had different seafood and they all loved what they got and did say that it was very fresh and very delicious. And the atmosphere is very laid-back - waitresses in jean shorts and t-shirts. And they've got historical photos on the walls which are very interesting and just a very good atmosphere.
