Went last night to have a burger and a beer with a friend. We sat in the bar and since the place was practically empty, the bar keeper greeted us promptly. We ordered two large drafts and was told that on Mondays the "grill is closed"! Huh? They serve certain items on the menu and tonight the burgers were not available...I ordered the prime rib sandwich instead. It came as a Philly cheese steak style with peppers and cheese. It was not what I expected but it was really tasty! We finished the beers and got the check. Just under $30.00!!!! Why has beer gotten to be so pricey? I mean really - $7.99 for a large draft. Glad I didn't order another. So I made it out of the place with $35 less than I came in with, had a decent sandwich and a cold beer, and left some what happy.
I went to Red Ginger and ordered a wine and said I wanted take out. They served me my glass of Merlot and never returned. I was sitting at their lame excuse for a bar for thirty minutes without any service before I went to Charlie and Jake's. The St Louis ribs were better than anything I could have got at Red Ginger. I would have preferred the prime rib or rib eye, but Charlie's was sold out of those by the time I got there. Just say no to Red Ginger and you will be better off.
Went here for lunch today, very nice! I was welcomed by the Aroma of hops which was rather wonderful. Barb greeted us with warmth and made us feel welcome. Had the burger melt, was cooked perfect. I'm a rare guy, love a rare burger, you get to taste what you eat and I'll tell you, total mouth watering greatness. My wife had the Angus, she says damn good, big, which is the only thing you wanna hear from a woman if your asking about meat. Absolutely wonderful experience, got the beer sampler which had many award winning tasty brews. Vickie loved the wickham wheat, really hit the spot I'm told. Myself personally I went for the anniversary ale, which apparently won silver at the great American beer festival. To which I say master brewers, a modest tip of the cap to your greatness and care for your artistic work in crafting these brews. Went to the outdoor patio where we could smoke, were invited after sitting down to a warm sea breeze. Suffice to say places like these need to be in the neighborhood, so please support your local businesses.
French dip was delicious. We all enjoyed our BBQ, burgers, and sides. Beer and cocktails were great. The weather was perfect to sit outside and the service was fantastic!
