Had Black Forest chocolate cake and dark beer. Very tasty snack. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Natalie is a knowledgeable and friendly server. Genießen!
This was opening night for this new biergarten in downtown Melbourne. The place looks great and it was a lot of fun. The band (Hot Pink) was outstanding. The food was good and the German food seemed authentic to me. However, I don't think they were really ready for a good opening. The service was incredibly slow. They were out of almost all their German beer. Everything seemed very disorganized. Hopefully they will get their act together because this could be the new hot spot for Melbourne.
Went for drinks with a few friends. I love German restaurants, so I was exciting to hear this opened. Great location and lots of potential. Most of beers weren't working and the ones that did was all foam so it took 3 minutes to pour a beer. They said they are working on fixing the CO2 system. They have dueling pianos, but they only had one pianist and he did not even know the words to Piano Man. You can also see remnants of the former latino bar that was there. The strobe and disco lights didn't fit the German vibe. This is the same owners as the one in Cocoa Village, so I have high hopes that it will improve. I'll probably wait a few months for them to work out their kinks and try it again.
I've recently started to frequent this bar and have had nothing but fantastic things to say. The Bartender Emily and the Bar Manager Brittany have made every visit a joy. They are a huge reason, if not the main one, I continue to come back. I've gone to karaoke on Wednesday nights a few times and it's always a blast. They have a variety of beer and liquor options and the staff are more than capable of providing assistance in choosing something new. Their food menu does appear to have a mix of French and German options, though I can't speak to this aspect of the establishment at this time.
Really good food. The schnitzel was super thin and juicy. The outside breading was really crunchy. Decent German beer selection, I hope they expand it as they get more established. Lots of promise in this new place.
