Mr.Delicious Pizza

As a native New Yorker, not many places can come close to the style of NY pizza, but this spot hits it, hammering the nail on the head. 🎯

For two people, their 16" is too large and their 10" cauliflower crust is too small. I liked the crust which was crispy on the bottom, but the pizza we had with mushrooms, extra cheese, 1/2 sausage and 1/2 banana pepper was lacking in overall flavor. Could have had a little more tomato sauce as well.

I dined here based on a suggestion from a friend and after reading reviews. I suppose I should have read more about the location, because the first thing you notice upon waking in are the limited tables, and the four tables there are quite small. So, this is a nice setup if you're having a slice of two or taking a or to go.

I wanted to eat in and opted for a 16" cheese pie. I generally order something plain whether I visit a new place in order to determine how well they'll do with other items. The pie was brought to the table in a box, and that took up at least 50% of the table. There are no stands on which the pizza can be elevated above the table. Spices? Only red pepper flakes and parmesan, each in individual packets. Drinks are limited to the items in the cooler.

As for the pizza, and this is only my opinion, it was quite bland. The crust was great, but the pizza had very little taste. Why? The cheese to sauce ratio was too high. I could barely see or taste any sauce, and the sauce I did see at the edges was limited and dry from the baking. It felt like I was eating just cheese and dough, and the cheese didn't have a good enough taste to overcome that. It would have been better had a little more tomato sauce been added. Better, not great. Overall, it was just sustenance.

We decided to order takeout from this place because we heard it is the former owner of Viera Pizza. We ordered a 20" cheese pizza with extra cheese. When I arrived to pick it up, I was a bit surprised to receive a pizza the size of one of the tires on my Jeep. This pizza was HUGE. I almost couldn't close the car door after putting it on the passenger seat.

The pizza was very hot and it was excellent. Their sauce is much better than I remembered from when we used to order from Viera Pizza. It was LOADED with cheese and I could taste the seasoning in the sauce. The crust is sweet, but not too sweet....and it was not overpowering. I also noticed it wasn't overly chewy like some hand tossed pizzas.

The price was reasonable....maybe even lower than some places, and the people were very nice. And this was top quality pizza. We will certainly be back. It is always good to support local businesses, particularly when they do things the right way.

Mr Delicious is just that Delicious! Fresh ingredients, flavorful. Just enough cheese and sauce. Slices were huge Garlic knots Delicious. Will be back. I Should have posted a picture of the garlic knots, but we were hungry😉😄 We dined in and placed a take out order. Best Wishes to the owners👍🏼
