Went on a Wednesday evening. They had a huge party ahead of us, so we expected a bit of a wait, but service was always attentive and the wait for food wasn't bad at all. Got a 50/50 boil of snowcrab and shrimp, medium Boom seasoning, and a fried shrimp basket. Both were just about as good as they can get. We'll be back!
It's a small little gem. The seasoning for the boil was great (The Boom mild). The service was great and very friendly. There wasn't pressure to get costly dishes or extras. Just knowledgeable advice on which crab would best suit our tastes. We added sausage to the boil just for the extra flavor. The food took a decent amount of time to hit the table, but it was hot and obviously fresh. None of it was over or under cooked, which is so important to the flavor and texture.
Overall, the dining experience was fantastic and would recommend it over any of the other crab shacks/steam pots in the area.
We went to Crafty Crab on a Saturday, as a group of nine. Both the service and the food were fantastic. Messy, yes, but still very tasty. Do not go there dressed in white, or wearing your best silk blouse, lol. This is more a eat with your hands kind of thing. And while they do provide a bib and "gloves", it's still a messy yet delicious experience. Fried baskets of chicken strips, shrimp or oysters are also available and not messy at all. But the reason to go there is the boiled seafood, your choice of several types of crab, clams, mussels, shrimp or a combo all served with boiled potatoes and corn on the cob seasoned with their magical spices that come in a range from super mild to hot. All wonderful. Boils are served up in a bag that has the luscious broth in the bottom, just enough for dipping. Not for everyone, but to me it's great. Give it a try! Enjoy!!
Great place for great seafood boils. Good sized portions for the price. We went around 530pm on a Saturday and was able to sit down right away. Waitress paid attention to us throughout the meal. We had the daily special, large size of the seafood platter and a shrimp basket. Definitely recommend.
