The Whale's Rib

Had to visit here with friends because of the feature on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! We tried several of the house favorites and we found them quite tasty! The staff was excellent and attentive - the manager even stopped by our table to make sure everything was good! Will visit again next time we're in Deerfield Beach.

Great place! It was busy when we arrived but we were seated soon enough. Server was quick and efficient. The fish basket was excellent, and the fried oysters as well. Definitely worth the trip down!

Great spot for lunch or dinner. Great food all around, friendly service. Meal came within 15 minutes and tasted amazing. Highly recommend the key west sandwich with pastrami and whale fries.

The Whale's Rib is a funky little diner near the beach in Deerfield Beach, FL. They were featured on Diner's, Drive Ins and Dives, so I had high expectations. The oysters were great! The shrimp scampi was excellent! They give really large portions of food. The lobster salad was delicious. Would have expected a lobster sandwich to have been better. The bar drinks underdelivered. The wait was long. Parking was difficult unless you paid for it, $10 for 2 hours.

A friend and I arrived at the Whale's Rib on a Friday evening around 830. Naturally I was pretty crowded. However we were offered seats at the bar, which was fine with us even though we don't drink. Our server was very personable and when the food arrived it was hot and delicious. No complaints from me.
