I had stayed in the hotel many years ago while working on a film project.
I returned on Oct 1st with a group from Revs Institute. Alhough I didn't know what to expect I was very pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the help were not just competent but friendly and attentive. All of this in a beautiful screened in porch.
So besides having a great lunch I got to reminisce about the time that I spent there some fifty yrs ago.
If you are looking for a place to go that is just a short ride from Naples I highly recomend the Everglades Rod and Gun Club.

What a wonderful find!! Excellent good and service. Totally off the beaten past. A great part of history.

Amazing place. Too bad that the upstairs room are not available for guests. So much history in the hotel lobby. It is like walking into a museum. The restaurant food was outstanding as was the service. We had the seafood platter and it was amazing. They very generous with the drinks. I will come back again.

We decided to check out the Rod And gun Club for a weekend. We love historical buildings and Florida history. Our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed looking around the lodge at all of the fishing and hunting memorabilia. The lodge hours our odd at best - but sitting on the screened in veranda for lunch and cocktails in the evening overlooking the water, made up for it! We will definitely be back! The buildings definitely need some TLC between hurricanes and the Everglades Environment. We hope the owners will hang onto this beautiful piece of Florida history.
