“We finally made it to Big Chicken. The area had a big power outage, and we went on the search for fried chicken for our son who got out of school early. Thankfully, Big Chicken had power, and we were able to enjoy a nice lunch. Grace was our server, and she was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. The food was excellent. My son loves his chicken, and he said this place had the best tenders in town. Plus, all the dipping sauses were awesome as well. I chose to try a milk shake, and it truly was the best milkshake I have had. Definitely recommend. My husband enjoyed a classic chicken sandwich and fries, and of course, it was perfect. We all enjoyed the fries. We can't wait to go again.”

“First time I tried this shop & they will continue to get my business! I called ahead to place an order for a few cupcakes because I had a late appt in Lake City and knew I’d be coming in at the end of the day. When I entered, she told me that their card machine wasn’t working. I told them I was there to pick up cupcakes that I had called in advance for so she said she’d try the card machine again. It didn’t work so I asked where the nearest ATM was and she told me to please just take the cupcakes. I told her no no, I can go grab cash but she insisted I take the cupcakes. She had no idea how that moment impacted me! The cupcakes were in honor of our due date with a baby that resulted in a miscarriage. It would have been our little girl’s 2nd birthday around this time so there are only 2 cupcakes pictured. Thank you to Brittany’s Cupcake Shoppe for blessing me today!”

The people were very friendly and nice, the atmosphere was comfortable and like you'd just want to sit around (not to mention the table games, jenga and connect 4), and the food was delicious. The names to the food are fun but the food itself is great, I had the chicken Cesar wrap which tasted like a premium salad inside a nice spinach wrap. She got the turkey avocado bagel and the sweet red pickled onions on top were amazing along with the rest of it. She said the smoothie she got was one of the best around. Loved everything and having a decent healthy spot to eat that's not all the way in Gainesville. We will definitely be coming back soon and more often!”

“Ninety percent of the time that I visit Lake City, FL, I just have to stop by Smoothie King. The smoothies and smoothie bowls are simply delicious and the ultimate refreshing treat; and healthier than many other alternatives. During one visit, the day before I had surgery; the staff took the time to write a very meaningful note on the outside of the bag to wish me a safe surgery and speedy recovery. Wow! Good food and awesome people.”

“We were looking for a new place to try and was not sure what to expect. We heard they had a new chef and are working on many changes. We were greeted by Johnny our server who is also the tennis pro and great guy. He juggled our table and a Christmas party with ease making us feel at home. The most surprising was the food. We had bourbon chick and shrimp and grits. We recently moved from Durham NC a foodie city and these meals were on par with anything we’ve had up there. It was wonderful. I can’t wait to see what changes they make to the building and hope the community supports this restaurant. It’s open to the public and reasonable priced. I think it’s less expensive and tastier then The Great Outdoors in High Springs.”

The food was awesome and we had so much left over due to the amount you get per meal. This was our 1st visit to any Piesanos and we will definitely be back. “Was hesitant to try this place out but extremely glad we did. The food was great, I had the cheeseburger and onion rings, it was excellent, onion rings were hand battered, not frozen. We also had the chicken quesadilla and it was very tasty as well. Red sangria was awesome. Bartender Debbie is fantastic and attentive. Place appeared very clean. Only con is the bar area being a little on the small size. Highly recommend and will be going back.”

“What a find! We arrived to Lake City from a crazy day of travel, checked into our hotel & asked the front desk ladies for a local place they’d recommend. She didn’t hesitate & said Halpatter! So happy she did. Monday nights are Bingo nights. Walked in & was welcomed immediately. It’s a brewery with so many drink options to choose. But, the food was amazing too. The Cuban sandwich was delicious & the pretzel pulls were perfect. I tried a coconut coffee beer, literally amazing! Everyone was so friendly. We talked to the workers & the people around us. It seemed like we were invited to a private event! It’s a must do in Lake City. We are only here for a few nights & hope to make it back!”

“The farmhouse restaurant is a good buffet for lunch featuring made from scratch country food salads, veggies, meats, cornbread, and desserts. To drink: ice tea and sodas. One of our group was vegetarian and they priced the buffet at a child price including drink for that guest. We haven’t had the breakfast yet. The atmosphere is friendly and unrushed. The only thing I would like to see is a soft serve ice cream machine.”
