Awesome live band and great service. Definitely will go there next time I am in town.
Food, drinks, service, and band were Great!!! Also, nice having floor space to dance!! Room temperature was a little warm, though. :D
Very solid non-chain (there's a few of em around town) restaurant with competitive prices to your chains but with a local feel. Always a good time here, they do live music and trivia on top of serving out great dishes and drinks.
The music is always great, the service is good. The drinks are awesome. Then I order food. The first time I ordered food I had a scallop appetizer. It was possibly the worst scallops I have ever had. The menu has since been updated. It’s been months since I ordered anything off the menu after the scallops. Tonight I gave the new menu a shot. Ordered crab artichoke dip. The pita chips were burnt, and it tasted like low tide at the beach. I’m a local, I know there is fresh seafood at the dock. Stop storing it improperly or buying it in bulk at Cosco. This place is awesome if the kitchen would get itself together.
What an amazing response. Within minutes of submitting this critique. Andy was at my table. He apologized. (Unnecessary, I’m sure he doesn’t order or cook the food). He offered different food, etc... this place takes the reviews seriously. The food was removed from my bill and everything that could be done to make the customer happy was done. I have never received a response as quickly or as adequate as I have received this evening.
I really wanted to like this place because of all the reviews but there is definitely a LOT of room for improvement.
Mimosas: they taste like 95% orange juice. They need to improve that ratio and make it right, especially because they advertise bottomless mimosas on the side of the road.
Food: the tacos were acceptable but not something I would crave when I'm really hungry.
Service: FRIENDLY! The waitresses try their best to make sure you have all you need, althought they take forever. This is probably the only reason why I think they deserve 3 stars and not 2.
Takeaway: for the price, its not bad but I really struggle to find a reason to visit Whiskey Jax again.
