Could have easily been a 5-star review! My family and I went for a teacher tour, which was great! The tour guide was sweet and knowledgable. The building itself was great, and the staff was great EXCEPT Sweet Pete himself! Part of the tour took us to the kitchen where he was, all alone, cleaning around but not once did he look up to us with all the kids to wave or smile or even give a nod. All the kids were so excited to see him, THEE SWEET PETE in person, but he didn't even glance in our direction. One of my kids even said "he looks like he's trying NOT to make eye contact" and that is exactly what it was. All the kids wanted was a wave - but nothing. The other two kitchen workers who we saw in another part of the kitchen made a point to look up, smile, and wave -my kids specifically were so happy to see that. Just that makes the difference, and we were really hoping for something from "Sweet" Pete. Everything else was great!
Great environment. Full of wonder! You can grab so.e great food to eat and shop for candy and toys. Great place for anyone to go to. There salted caramel is Amazing! Definitley recommend for the family. We even got to to see Pete!
Cool old fashion style building, all the sweets anyone could ever want to see no less eat. Easy to find, near city park, on street parking. We had a very nice professional well organized waitress. Food was excellent. Bread pudding was very yummy too. Easy on the wallet. Full bar with a bunch of Sweet Petes specials. Great place for a fun date or bring the whole family.
Super cute with awesome atmosphere. The employees were really nice. This was an unscheduled stop on our trip and I'm glad to have gone.
There's a restaurant, candy shop, ice cream parlor, and toy store inside. You can also get a peek into the candy factory.
Only 4 stars because the prices were super high for what they carry.
This is a wonderful candy store. When you walk in the door it's like stepping in a candy world. The restaurant is to the left and to the right you enter the store. There are 3 levels of the candy store with each floor being a little different. On the 3rd floor you can view the candy making and the smell is intoxicating. There are all types of candies and chocolates.
I got a small candy container with a scoop. For $16.95 you get the container and then you fill it with as much candy as you can fit. I personally loved the chocolate covered pistachios as well as the chocolate raspberries and most of the chocolate covered fruit. All of the chocolate was great quality and tasted fantastic. I also got chocolate covered caramels with sea salt and they were delicious. Although I think those are priced a little high they are definitely worth the price.
If you get a chance to come to the candy store I wouldn't pass it up because it is truly unlike any other candy store. Also I love watching The Profit episodes where Pete is on them, he seems to be genuinely a wonderful guy and who wouldn't want to help support his business.
