Co3 Vietaco

My husband and I stopped by VIETaco for the first time tonight when we noticed it as we were passing by. We were not sure what to expect and had to take suggestions from the friendly cashier. We were NOT disappointed. We tried the Banh Xeo “pancakes” that were really like these delicious crepes with a crispy texture that are wrapped around the meat of your choice, bean sprouts etc. You can then wrap that in lettuce and fresh basil, dip it in fish sauce if you want and it is sooo good! It’s a great combination of a little crunch and fresh flavors. We also each had one of the “tacos” and those were also very good! We have never had anything like this at other Vietnamese places and we are thrilled that we stumbled across this gem. The staff is super friendly and it appears to be a great mom and pop shop. This is definitely on our list of restaurants we want to return to... give them a try, you’ll likely want to return as well!

I am very excited that this restaurant has opened here and continue to expand on the growing Jax food scene! They are currently still in the soft opening phase and therefore do not have their full menu out yet. They are releasing limited number of their final menu items on a rotating schedule and are introducing them one at a time to the market, which I think is a smart thing to do at this time. We recently tried their full-sized pancake Banh Xeo, and we thought they were very good. The “pancake itself is very flavorful without the stuffing. The fish sauce on the stuffing though really bring out even more of the flavor. They are also decently priced at $9 a piece (although I personally hoped that the pancakes could be bigger). I cannot wait for the items to come out and give those a try too. Overall, I’m excited about this place and everything it has to offer. Sticking to a somewhat limited menu and not offer every Vietnamese food under the sun like many other viet restaurants around here might make Vietaco stand out amongst its competition, and might potentially be financially sound in the long run especially given the current economic climate. I hope this restaurant will stick around for a long time and I will definitely return very soon.

They have their soft opening the entire Sept 2020. I don't think any Vietnamese restaurant in Jax have Banh Xeo so I'm glad they decided to bring this awesome Vietnamese dish to the Jax masses. The Banh Xeo is delicious and I hope to try out their other offerings. The employees are really nice too.
