A great place to grab a bite, service is quick and attentive. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Additionally, the food is great! We tried the chicken katsu and the seafood poke bowl and both were delicious.
They also provide complimentary fried oreos for dessert, which was a nice touch.
Labor Day lunch with my wife. We ordered and shared an Alaska roll to start and for the Mains, we ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and Chicken Teppanyaki. Pretty good and filling. Sushi roll is fresh. Great service!
Tip: We checked-in via Yelp app and received $5 off $30. Good deal!
I stopped in for the lunch special, two rolls and soup or salad for 9.99.
The inside is beautiful and calming.
The food was perfect and i received a coupon for my next visit, I can't wait to go back.
P.s. Thursday is ladies night, BOGO wine and sake.
Update: the Chicken Katsu Don is amazing and the fish is soooo fresh.
This may be the best sushi house in Jacksonville. The details I noticed that set this place apart were:
Quality Green tea
Premium Seaweed wrapper
Perfectly prepared Rice
Wasabi was super intense (typically a powder that is mixed in house, at most places it’s mixed thin and weak to save money. This maybe be the real stuff I couldn’t tell)
Real chopsticks w chopstick rest
Excellent presentation
We ordered:
Takuwan pickled radish roll
Shrimp roll
Tuna roll
Yakitori
Yakionigiri
Agedashi tofu
Cold Soba noodles
Tempura
Everything was well presented and delicious. Service was a little slow but we only noticed because we had a small child with us. Otherwise would have been a nice laid back meal. They may have been short staffed.
What a great location, wonderful sushi, crystal clear interior, and fantastic service. Really a great find for our Sunday after church lunch and easy parking is also a big plus. The sushi chef came over to our table and explained that he was trained in Tokyo and had only been in the US for a few months. We may be biased, but we hope he stays.
Also, for those of you who like their rolls tightly wrapped, I did not have a problem with mine. Also loved the little things, like the chopstick holder for each person at the table and real chopsticks, not the disposable time.
Kudos for the two rolls for $9.99 special every day of the week. (Even Sundays). Most sushi locations will not honor a special like that on Sundays.
But you want to hear about the food:
Side Salad - good and fresh, they don’t the salad with dressing and instead put it on the side. So you can still soak it if you want. 🤩
Seaweed Salad - served on top of sliced cucumber, it was good.
Philadelphia Roll - got rave reviews from our table.
Alaska Roll - one of my personal favorites.
Sweet Potato Roll - a family favorite and this was do well done. Maybe top it with some eel sauce, but that may just be personal preference.
Shrimp Tempura - pretty standard, but we’ll executed.
Spicy Tuna - paired well with the sweet potato roll, a little sweet and a little spice.
Baymeadows Roll - this was in the category of “let’s try something” which we all shared and guess what, it was PERFECTION. Really a delicious roll.
Also like that the menu specified how many pieces you get with each roll.
ONE BIG COMPLAINT. Iced tea was not all you could drink, which is pretty standard in the South. Also, salad or soup is not included with the two roll special, also pretty standard in the South. I hope they rethink both of those policies in the future.
