My wife and I stopped in for breakfast this morning and had a great experience. The staff was very nice and the gentleman that served us was very personable.
The menu had a great selection including several gluten free options as well which was a welcome sight.
The chicken and waffles were delicious and the spicy Sriracha syrup was a welcome suprise that came with the dish. The coffee they serve is something special too, it must be a custom roast because it doesn't taste like coffee I've had before.
Overall we had a great visit and will be back.
This restaurant is a breath of fresh air. We enjoyed the huge, "Red, white and blue" pancakes, (which were cooked perfectly, light and fluffy) with a side of crispy bacon. Also we had the "Ultimate" omelet served with hash brown potatoes and white toast(Also incredible, and tasted like read eggs). Our server Alissa was great, and very attentive, actually everyone was very friendly, accommodating, professional, and welcoming. The atmosphere was bright and airy, I almost felt like sitting in your own family kitchen.... All of this for about $30 bucks.
I tried Scramblers the other day with my family. There are some positives about it and some negatives.
Pros: reasonable prices on pretty much all dishes. I liked that my waitress showed me pictures of the dishes as I was trying to decide. Good coffee and flavored creamer options. The moose 🫎 skillet was pretty tasty. My wife’s Baja something skillet was so-so. The mini classic breakfast was good. They give plenty of toast. The environment and decor was basic but nice. The food came out quickly and hot, but keep in mind that we went on a Monday at the end of lunch.
Cons: the cups and water glasses had a faint hint of egg smell. This downgraded the restaurant to my eyes. The hot sauce options were either Tabasco or Red Hots. To me red hot is too vinegary for breakfast and Louisiana hot sauce is more balanced, but this is personal preference. The drinks were more expensive than most other competitors , nearly $4 for coffee. The skillets were mostly potatoes instead of the other ingredients. The grits were just okay.
Overall: not a bad place but for $20/person for breakfast, I expected more, including more flavor. They do give a scratch off ticket for your next visit, with discounts to make you come back. I think this is a great idea. Their offerings are pretty basic but a solid selection. I’d be probably go back if it weren’t for the glasses having a slight odor. There are better options in Jacksonville for roughly the same price, so I don’t think we will return.
I confess that out of selfishness, I hesitate to rate this hidden wonder for fear it will be revealed to all and sundry for the amazing place it is! But I’ll risk facing a crowd there, because this place is worth it. On a rare errand to Old Baymeadows since we’ve not been drawn to this area for some time, I saw a new restaurant called Scrambler’s that was sprawling in a corner of this shopping center. We decided to visit on a Saturday and were prepared to wait the standard minimum of 30 minutes for a weekend breakfast spot. We arrived at 10:00, were seated immediately (and they were busy!) and were impressed by the substantial menu. All the breakfast standards (skillets, pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast burritos, avocado toast, egg white omelets, etc.) are on offer, and they even have a bottomless griddle option, although the waffles are as big as your face so who could eat more than one? We ordered a selection of items and our food came out so quickly that even in the relaxed atmosphere, we finished our meal 30 minutes after placing our order. Each dish was fantastic and we even ordered a great salad to go. Most importantly, they were very well staffed with kind, pleasant, helpful people!! For pet folks, they also have outside tables where people were dining with their pups. We will definitely be hitting them up for more excellent weekend breakfast visits!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Scramblers for breakfast, and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu offered a wide variety of breakfast options, and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food.
For my first meal, I ordered the kids meal pancake with a smiley face on it. The presentation alone brought a smile to my face! The pancake was fluffy and perfectly cooked, and the combination of bacon, whipped cream, and blueberries added a delightful burst of flavors. It was a playful and delicious start to my day.
Next, I tried the western omelette, which came with a generous portion of potatoes and fresh fruit. The omelette was packed with savory ingredients like ham, peppers, and onions, and the cheese melted perfectly throughout. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the fresh fruit provided a refreshing balance to the hearty omelette. It was a satisfying and well-rounded breakfast option.
One of the highlights of my visit was the open face omelette on a croissant. The combination of a flaky croissant and a fluffy omelette was simply heavenly. The omelette was filled with a variety of delicious ingredients, and the croissant added a wonderful buttery texture to each bite. It was a unique twist on a classic dish, and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
Overall, Scramblers exceeded my expectations with their breakfast offerings. The meals were prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors were outstanding. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that I had a pleasant dining experience. While I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, I am giving Scramblers four stars instead of five due to the slightly longer wait time for my food. However, the quality of the meals more than made up for the wait.
If you're looking for a breakfast spot with delicious and creative dishes, I highly recommend giving Scramblers a try. Whether you're in the mood for a playful kids meal or a savory omelette, they have something to satisfy every palate. I can't wait to visit again and explore more of their menu offerings.
