King of the Coop

Update: my boyfriend was talking about the sandwich he got ALL NIGHT. He insisted we go back today. Tried to call in but they prioritize in person consumers which is totally understandable, so I was on hold and ended up in their parking lot. Totally fine because honestly if I went to sit down and eat I would want to have their attention too. I got to order in the restaurant and the crew was awesome, super personable group. The meal was bomb AF and they graciously included the missing mac from yesterday. We will definitely be back... probably this week to be honest.

I’ll start by saying the food is GOOD and I will most definitely go back. I took away a star because I got take out and when I got home (30 mins away) my side of Mac wasn’t in the bag. Bummer. I’ll double check it next time.

Really phenomenal chicken sandwich. Very well seasoned, crisp, and it's a generous portion. You won't leave hungry. I love spicy food and I got the Coop's Fury level of heat, and it actually had some real kick to it. The fries are also top notch and the pickles pack some serious flavor. Service was quick and friendly.

Came in on a Friday at 6pm for a couple of sandwiches and mac n cheese. It took a little while but everything is hot and fresh, including the mac. The Nashville hot had some heat but it won't melt your face off. Fries were perfect.

Edit: came back a month later on a Friday at 6pm. Service was fast, food was better. The hush puppies are crispy on the outside and super soft inside. The pimento cheese is on point. I tried the next level of heat and it was a little bit hotter but still not melt your face off. Also, the portions are big for a good price.

There wasn’t a long line when we were there and food came out in good time. Food looked great, but the chicken was tough.The fries were great though! Think BBQ chip flavor on a crispy French fry. My 1.5 year old was serious about not sharing her fries with anyone. Hush puppies were super spicy (a little undercooked), but the pimento cheese is a perfect addition to tame the heat. I would like to believe that I would like the leg quarter better than the tenders that I ordered.

I would definitely try it again because it seems like there are a lot of good reviews and Mr. Coop has the drive for success. I hope your business stays booming and tweaks are made over time to really perfect it all!

I revised my review and added stars because I ate my leftover chicken the next day and the flavor really came out. I enjoyed it even more on the second day and so did the 1.5 year old. Chicken wasn’t tough on the 2nd day either. I might have just torn into the chicken too quickly while I was at the restaurant and it needed some time to rest instead of practically eating it straight from the fryer.

By far THE BEST fried chicken and macaroni and cheese that I’ve ever had. I had the king Mac sandwich with a side of fries and a side of the macaroni and cheese. After dining here my boyfriend and I told all of our friends and coworkers about how amazing it was. The chicken was well seasoned and juicy. The fries were perfectly fluffy and crunchy. The macaroni and cheese was so well seasoned and creamy. We went on a Thursday night and it was packed. The owner came by and checked on every table to make sure everyone was enjoying their meals. The dining room is small but they also have outdoor seating. I don’t care if I’d have to sit in the parking lot to eat it. Totally worth trying and the prices are great for the amount of food you receive. I’ve never written a review before, but this food was worth reviewing.
