Wonderful fresh Hawaiian-style Poke bowl take-out or informal eat in restaurant. I love sushi and sashimi so I've recently gravitated to Hawaiian poke bowls which with fish, are like a big sashimi bowl or similar to a bento box sashimi meal. This poke restaurant has two branches in Tampa, one near where I work in the Hyde Park/Howard Avenue commercial district and the other closer to the Westshore Mall on Kennedy Blvd.near the Howard Frankland bridge.
You choose your base item, rice or brown rice, a kale cole slaw or spring greens or sweet potato cellophane spaghetti noodles. Then you have size options-small, regular or large bowls, and based on size, can pick the number of your proteins, marinade, toppings and sauces. The proteins are cubes of raw or spicey raw tuna and salmon, citrus salmon and spicey tuna with mayonnaise. There is also small cooked local shrimp, organic tofu & chicken. The marinades are traditional sushi-style like ponzu sauce, sesame sauce, spicey mayo and a variety of others. Then you pick your toppings, three types of fish row, fried onions, fried garlic, cucumber slices, seaweed salad, kimchi, strawberries, blueberries, mango chunks, etc. And finally you can top your poke bowl with sauces similar to the marinade selections and add other items like sliced almonds, macadamia nuts, etc. The finished product is a powerhouse healthy meal. The large comes to $16 and change but is it ever worth it! Definitely found my new alternative to Japanese take-out dinners.

I used to never eat poke, then I came upon Poke Fish and absolutely loved it. Being the major foodie I am, I began a quest to find the best Poke in Tampa. And after trying nearly everywhere, Poke Fish is not only the best, but it blows the others away. Each ingredient is incredibly fresh, the fish is incredible, and it does not have that preservative and additive taste most places have. The sauces alone should be bottled and sold as retail, and combinations you can do has me going multiple times a week.

Staff was great and location was clean, However the poke bowl’s rice was hard and not-sushi like which is what I was expecting (sticky rice). They did have great selection of coffees and drinks, and their little outside area is nice too. I’d come back to give him another try.

Love this place. We've placed pick up orders a couple times now and the service is always prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Food is delicious and fresh. My only change would be to their online ordering platform, which could use more descriptions of the sauces and ingredients. For example, their spicy tuna is actually like a tuna salad, not marinated raw tuna as we expected. Luckily the very nice girl who was making our bowls was able to swap this out for me. Poke Fish has quickly become our new go-to when wanting something fresh and tasty. Highly recommend.
