Salsa Restaurant & Bar

From the beginning there was some confusion as to what type of food was going to be served. The name doesn’t say it is Mexican food and looking at the menu it had more of a Latin feel, not just Mexican. That being said yes the atmosphere was good. Really didn’t look like it was changed much from the Italian restaurant that it taken over. Free chips and salsa were brought to the table but took like 15 mins to get. The chips were out of a bag from the store. And I question if they even make their own salsa. It was like unsalted diced tomatoes out of a jar. The guacamole was way too acidic. No garlic, no tomatoes, no spice. All you could taste was lime. The main course was steak fajitas. At first when it was brought out I was shocked by how small the bowl was. And the flour tortillas were like small taco size. But once they finally brought out the toppings and it was able to be assembled it was very good. The steak was perfectly charred and very moist. Tasted like street tacos. The beans were good. Rice was just white rice. Not a lot of spice. Some of it was hard. Margarita was great. We also had issues with the enchiladas. They were very tough and hard to cut. Not sure exactly was going on there. Overall a disappointing experience. Would be willing to try it again but they have lots to work out yet.

A great change up for a place I called home for 6 years! Yes a few things could use tweaked, but it’s just opening and everything will work it’s way out. Over all a GREAT place to go and enjoy time with family. ( If you visited Angelo’s from 2014-2020 you had me at some point and I would NEVER lead you in a bad menu option).
