This is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is very pleasant and intimate. We felt at home and the service was excellent! The food is spectacular and you can't miss the octopus, chistorra with brie, blood sausage and
vin fig pintxos!!! We will be back soon!!! Thank you Alex and Thomas for your attention!
Very cozy place that deserves a more upscale location. The food tasted really good and presentation was on point as well. We sat outside but I noticed beautiful decor inside when we first came in.
I do agree with other reviewers that portions are small for the price.
Our first time at El Basque has been an amazing experience. This small restaurant offers an intime and sophisticated atmosphere. We had four different choices and the food was “Top of the range”, delicious and well served. We will come back, and I highly recommend to try it !!!
Enjoyed a delicious dinner. The restaurant is charming. Beautiful artwork hang on the walls, painted by the owner’s mother-in-law. Our waiter, Mircea, was attentive and very helpful with his suggestions. John, the owner, came by to make sure all was well. A wonderful evening.
Absolutely marvelous experience. John, the owner, who brought us to our seats at the bar, also introduced us to his SO, Linda. They were both very warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the cuisine. The wait staff and chef were all very attentive and kind. The cider was unexpectedly fantastic that John recommended for us. We also were floored by the quality of the bread and the desserts (cheesecake, mostly). One suggestion I would have is for Linda to somehow present so much of her knowledge about the food and its history for the patrons. Perhaps on the menu? Or on a card somewhere? The place was a beautifully decorated and you really felt transported to the north of Spain. The bar has just 4 or 5 seats. Intimate. Plus the live music also was a nice touch. I highly recommend giving it a shot. A bit pricier but worth the price. :) The only dish that could be improved was the Fideau (pasta paella) because in authentic spanish cooking it’s a bit more aldente and crispy on the edges. But the experience was great. And I highly recommend the ESCARGOT. Will be returning.
