Doc Ford's Rum Bar & Grille - Captiva Island

Had the snapper, great. My wife has the boneless pork ribeye. Price reasonable for the area. Our server wasn’t 100% but after a few of those delicious drinks, that didn’t matter. Giving it a 5 start simply because the food was excellent and everything was delivered fast.

Very fun place to check out. Fast and friendly service, clean and well maintained. The food was really good with a menu that had good variety. Pricing was typical for most restaurants in the area, about 40 bucks for a dinner with a cocktail. I recommend this place and will go back myself in the future.

Doc Ford's, whichever location you choose, is a marvelous haven of culinary delight. The menu is not broad, but it is well thought out. Everything is prepared as described, no surprises, unless you have not set your bar high enough. The beverage selection is, again, well thought out. If you are a fan of rum, this is an excellent place to get an introduction to rums, like single malt scotches, that will stand on their own merit. I highly recommend Doc Ford's, I have never been disappointed. And, of course, if you are a fan of Randy Wayne White, and his cast of literary characters, then the experience is made just that much more richer.

Food was great and close to the resort. We had the steak, peel and eat shrimp and some items off the kids menu. My husband and I both loved our food and the kids all loved their food too. The service was amazing, our waitress was very attentive. They had live music playing outside. Definently a place to stop and eat at while you are in Captiva!

Ray was our server and he was awesome. The food was better than anything else were found locally even other high end restaurants. Highly recommend. Our table of 10 got a very wide variety of food ranging from kids menu items to seafood and wings. The food was very fresh and tasted super delicious! Highly recommend trying Doc Ford's!
