Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

My 20 year old son and I tried this restaurant for the first time Friday, May 3. We arrived a little after opening hours around 11:50 a.m. We were shocked by the many menu selections. We definitely had a hard time selecting a meal. The atmosphere and layout of the eating area was cozy and welcoming with lots of space.
Our meals were tasty and of good portions. My son ordered a dessert, fudge sundae for $5.99. To our surprise, the chocolate cake seemed the size of 6 pieces of cake. It was unreal. Overall excellent restaurant.

Great place to go. The food is very good and the price is very good. The portions are big. I got the country fried steak and still had some for another meal later. I also had tea and had to have refill a couple of times. Bigger drink glasses are needed. Well worth eating there. Wife had the meatloaf and she loved it. Another time while there I had the Chicken Pot Pie. Very big and very tasty.

This location is relatively new here, and the parking lot is always completely full. I had to finally go check out for myself what the apparent hype was all about. I found the entire menu to basically consist of burgers, ribs, chicken breast and french fries. If you're in the mood for eating something else, be advised. Otherwise, the burger I had here was really good. So were the fries.

Aside from the wait to be seated, it was amazing. The only thing I do not like is that they are located on the opposite side of town that I am. The food is amazing. Staff, decent, just like any restaurant was decent, had great people and okay people. Did not have any remotely negative interactions whatsoever. But also didn't have any positive interactions that would stand out, but that cannot be expected at every restaurant, every visit.

This was my first experience at a Cheddar's restaurant. I'd like to say that the service was very good, and out waitress was great. She tended to us promptly but was never overbearing. And she was very good about refills too.
We had the honey buttered croissants as an appetizer, and they were delicious. This has made our list to come back and have more. We bought the buffalo chicken tenders, steak, fries, and broccoli casserole. I enjoyed the chicken tenders as they seemed to be high quality meat and freshly breaded, very crispy too. The casserole was nice and cheesy, and the broccoli not to hard, not to soft: just right. The fries were seasoned, and I liked the crispness of them as well. The sweet tea seemed to be lacking, as if it had barely any tea steeped in it, despite being a dark color. But other than that it was a pleasant experience.
We got dessert before leaving. The apple crisp a la mode. It was nice to find out it was not just a slice of apple pie with ice cream (some restaurants don't know the difference between apple crisp and pie). I was happy with the large portion size of the dessert, although one more scoop of ice cream would have balanced out a lot better with the size of the dish. Still, quite tasty.
