“Great atmosphere, we stopped in while traveling. The ladies are so friendly and have great personalities. They take pride in their job. In talking with the women, we discovered that Ed just took over ownership about 5 months ago and already renovating and cleaning it up a bunch. Parking lot is gravel with some dips, but they have approval to improve the parking lot to make it more accessible to bikers. I had grilled ham & cheese, the ham was thick cut that they grilled before putting on the sandwich. He had country fried steak which was home cooked. We sat on the patio and relaxed under a willow tree on a pond, great relaxing atmosphere!”

“My husband and I were searching for a “mom and pop” type of restaurant while passing through Silver Springs and were so thrilled to have found this hidden gem!! They were running a special (Boston butt with mashed potatoes and creamed peas) and we ate our entire plates(which was a huge portion) in about 2 minutes. I don’t remember breathing while I ate, it was that good! The service was great and it was very clean inside and inside the restroom as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!”

And LORDY were we right. The wait is a little longer than expected, BUT the staff and customers were so friendly. And the food was amazing! Took me back to my grandma's house on Saturday mornings. “Well, the forest burger was yummy. However be forewarned they were out of a lot of items, like hamburger buns. So my burger was served two sub buns, which actually worked out, as I cut the burger in half since it was a decent size. It was a quirky place, with the best sweet tea I've ever had. Wish we could've eaten outside, but it was raining. After our meal we did stand on the back deck and watch a gator hanging out in the lake, along with the turtles and the birds. Lots of locals stopped in, adding interesting color to our lunch.”

But the young girl at the window was one of the nicest , most friendly, and helpful girl I've experienced at any restaurant in a very long time. It was like 8-9 pm at night and she helped us divide up shakes into 3 small ones for our young grandson's. She went above and beyond anything she needed to do.
