Root & Bone

Been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Some highlights on the menu are the angel biscuits, the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese, the ribs, and the burger (even if it's not on the menu, I've asked for it and the restaurant has obliged). Service is always friendly and attentive. While it can seem a bit pricey, the vast majority of dishes can be shared as the portions are pretty substantial.

To be honest, I was drawn to this establishment because of the building/architecture. I looked up The Yelp average reviews and figured why not and drop in. I'm giving Root & Bone 3 stars based on price and speed of service. Our waiter was the only person working the floor and was completely swamped. Not his fault and most businesses these days are understaffed. Service was good otherwise. Price was a bit much as well.

ANYWAYS. Let's end this review on a high note.

I highly recommend "Grandma Daisy's Angel Biscuits". Best biscuits I've ever had. Bar none. Didn't need any sort of sauce either. Made just right! I also had the INCREDIBLE "Root and Bone Cheeseburger", which consisted of brisket, a blend of chuck and short rib. Man I really did not want to stop eating that burger.

Come here for the food, but bring your patience

This place is beautiful and the decor is amazing. The service we had was wonderful. We really had a nice server named Jasmine! She was patient with us and checked on us to make sure we were ok. She also was very knowledgeable about the menu. I feel in love with the biscuits and French fries with that awesome sauce. My bloody Mary was really good as well. I also enjoyed the cold slaw and the mac and cheese. I even enjoyed the delicious banana ice cream with caramel. The reason why I am giving it a 4 is because I was a bit disappointed with the shrimp and grits. Maybe it is something I am not used to getting when I think of shrimp and grits. However, because of everything else I am willing to go back and try their brunch menu or even as my sister puts it their really good chicken and waffle entree.

Cool cocktails. I eat vegetarian. Not many options for me (but I wasn't expecting many either of course) but was able to enjoy a couple dishes, very tasty food. My husband had the ribs and said they were amazing and soft. They had live instrumental music on a friday night and it was nice to sit outside and enjoy

Best fried chicken I've had in forever; juicy, sweet and savory. Burger was custom cut and you could taste a combo of the smoke from the brisket and just the right amount of fat to keep it juicy. We will definitely be back.
