Gilbert's Resort

Great resort! Room was right on the water so relaxing. Inside the room was very quiet and very clean. Tiki bar restaurant had amazing food and the live band was amazing. I will definitely be staying at this resort again!

With the Resort in your name I would expect much higher standards. The continental breakfast was non existent, the rooms were clean and cute but we had to call several times for things to work. The front desk clerk was uninterested in our requests, the pool had a bunch of bugs in it. The only person that seemed to be working at the place was Jared. Kudos to him for fixing everything. We stayed further away from the trace to be at a “resort” on the beach- it was highly disappointing.

This place has great views. The staff are nice. Pool area is great. Rooms are just OK nothing spectacular. No live music when we were there and the bar closes early during the week.

I have visited the restaurant area several times while traveling and would normally give it 5 stars. However, this last visit was not 5-star worthy, unfortunately. The location is great, that's a given. But the service was just horrible. We ordered an appetizer and it came with the meal, we had to chase the server down for drinks. I had to go find our silverware and napkins to even eat. The guy was yelling and talking to other people while pretending to care about us. He never bused the table once food was finished, and never came to check to make sure things were okay. We had to go find him ourselves or find what we needed ourselves. We had to chase down our bill. We honestly could have walked out and not paid and the guy was so distracted goofing off he wouldn't have even known. Then to our disappointment, we had a 20% gratuity added to our check for a server who could not even bring us napkins. I guess he figured he was automatically getting a decent tip so he didn't have to put any effort forth.
Huge disappointment when we were really looking forward to visiting what used to be a favorite spot again.

When we arrived to Gilbert’s at 11PM we were a little hesitant about where we were staying. But once we got in our room we were SO pleasantly surprised with how clean and nice it was. The rooms are COLD (which is so refreshing after any amount of time outside) so bring a sweatshirt. Breakfast was great and the views from the bedroom are insane. Really wish they had availability to stay another night. So happy with this place. Will definitely be back!
