We ate here to try out the quick service which offers a nice variety of French style food. I had the chicken with pesto on focaccia bread with a side of fruit which tasted very nice as I wanted a light dinner. My wife didn't like the medium cooked burger but it looked like a decent size burger.
This place is great. This is the best quick service spot near Hollywood Studios. Indeed, I take the gondola system to the Riviera Hotel just for the food. First, the decor is quite pleasant. The flatware is real, and they serve on real flatware. I have only tried a couple of items, but the polenta is phenomenal. The presentation of the food is great, and the service, albeit limited due to the quick service nature of the restaurant, is very good. The price point is quite fair, given it is Disney.
We had the opportunity to spend a night at a new resort. We have staid at all of the deluxe resorts so we have experience with what Disney has to offer.
The food was good at this quick service location. We had breakfast and lunch with a positive experience. The challenge is that this quick service location is not big enough to meet the demands of the location. There is always a long line waiting to order. When we arrived at around 1030am the seating was full except for several tables that were dirty and no one was cleaning them off. I ended up cleaning off the table myself. It then took a long time to get two flatbreads which was disappointing. So overall not the best experience.
Primo Piatto is the best quick service restaurant at Disney's Riviera Resort. It has menu options that include breakfast and lunch. Of there is a bakery window that include options like sticky buns, croissants, banana bread, character cookies, and much more! The best meal at this quick service was the Spicy Italian Sandwich.....amazing! The atmosphere is beautiful but small; however, there are many seating option outdoors. Highly recommended especially with great cast members such as Josh who was incredibly helpful!
We did breakfast at Primo Piatto and had a nice experience. The decor, lighting and atmosphere is very welcoming in the morning. I love the big arched windows and the mosaic flooring. It’s a good way to start your day.
It’s your typical newer Disney resort quick service, there is a grab and go section as well as a more full featured menu where you place an order at the kiosks and then they bring your food directly to your seat.
We had three dishes at our table. First up was the Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes. They were thick and quality pancakes with a good amount of blueberries and enough lemon flavoring without being too overpowering.
We also did the Cinnamon Crumble 'French Toast' Bread Pudding. It is worth being very clear, this is absolutely more of a bread pudding than a French toast. The name should be obvious, but I feel like people may get to French Toast and just lock in without reading the rest. It was super tasty. Nice and crispy on the outside with good consistency on the inside. The vanilla bean custard totally negated the need for any syrup.
We also did a kids Mickey Waffle meal, which was exactly what you’d expect at any Disney spot. It was very quickly devoured.
All in all, it’s a nice spot for a quick meal. I look forward to seeing how the menu holds up for lunch or dinner in a future visit.
