Dexter's Thornton Park

Nice neighborhood eatery. Fair food. Service was not so good but not so bad either. OK place to go in the Thornton neighborhood. But not worth going out of the way for. I think the one in Winter Park is better. Good portions.

Came here for a Monday brunch and although they do not have the brunch menu on weekdays, they still had the unlimited mimosa deal which was why we came in the first place! What I liked about this place was that the glasses for the mimosas are so much larger when compared to other restaurants, which is good because then you don't have to ask for refills as often. They also have so many flavors including pineapple, mango, and strawberry. Now, for the food: I had the Eggplant Napolean which looked like a lot of food but I was able to finish it all and not feel too full! I wish we could have tried something from the brunch menu but I guess that means I'll have to come back!

Dexter's brunch was incredible! The young lady that helped us, Amanda, was just awesome! She anticipated our every need. She came by to fill our glasses always just before they were empty. The food was delicious, especially the little potato cakes. This place is a must for brunch!!

Had lunch there today. Ordered a Shrimp Cesar Salad...easy enough, except, my shrimp was not cleaned!! How are you going to serve uncleaned shrimp??? My friend also ordered a salad with shrimp, also not cleaned.... as for drinks, my co-workers ordered Old Fashions and noted that they weren't what they were used to, maybe Dexter's has a different recipe?? Other than that, service was average, nothing crazy, we were a pretty easy table to have, we didn't require much. Easy money. I have eaten here before so I'm pretty disappointed in the whole shrimp thing. I would go there again, and skip the shrimp lol

Nesting in the quaint area of Thornton Park were it was quiet, but busy...it was my first time there because they offered free dinner AND dessert for your birthday. The salad was really good! Fresh arugula and house made blue cheese dressing. Honey had the Dexter's special, which was tasty as well. The coconut key lime cake is not very sweet, so it was just right. Good service. I'll be back.
