Would give it 6 stars if we could! Flavorful, well-prepared deliciousness! Service is personal and professional - couldn't find a flaw with anything at all.
Possibly the best meal you can get at Disney World.
Jiko has foods from many parts of Africa, the middle east and Mediterranean, and India, blended wonderfully, beautifully, as seamlessly. Each dish is fantastic, but it is more than that.
You sit down and are quickly given refreshments, warm towels and Moroccan mint tea, which was fantastic alone. (If you like it, I highly recommend the MoTeaTo if they have it. Also if they read this: what is in the Seychelles Cocktail? Thanks!)
The appetizers are delightful, from Boar Tenderloin to Elk Sausage to wonderful dips and cheeses. Get the Taste of Africa to try a bunch of delicious breads and dips.
The entrees are always fantastic: I have always enjoyed the Short Rib, which I have had prepared several ways now. It is great every single time, over years of visits. Everything else looks and tasts amazing as well.
For dessert, the options are equally as interesting and good, but be warned: You may not have enough room left to finish!
My server (served 3 at 9:15-9:20 or something Tuesday March 12 since I can't remember her name) was amazing, thank you! Truly amazing service and excellent recommendations and help.
Bottom line:
Go here. You will not regret it.
One of my favorite restaurants on property, Top 3 for sure and maybe even the top of the list. For years we've had fantastic experiences. The food is always perfect, the service is consistently some of the best at Disney, and the atmosphere is lovely.
The menu changes seasonably, but generally speaking there is often an elk or boar appetizer that hits the spot and the oak grilled filet is the old favorite (if they’re not serving it with the mac and cheese you can always ask). With that said, the highlight for me is always either an elk or bison main dish that knocks it out of the park.
This was a wonderful meal! To begin the service is excellent, attentive but I never felt rushed. All of the food was really well seasoned and unique. I also love the ambiance. The bird inspired lighting is fun, pretty and perfectly dimmed.
We heard so many great things about this restaurant for so many years. When we went to make a reservation last minute to celebrate our anniversary, we saw an opening and we were too tempted not to go. My husband and I are not very adventurous eaters, so we wondered if we'd regret the choice later. On the contrary, we couldn't be more happy with our choice! Great atmosphere and excellent service. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. We tried some things we'd never get to try anywhere else, anytime soon, including authentic African wines. Food was incredible. Truly. We wished both of our dishes had come out hotter (they got cold quicker than we would've liked), but the flavor made that easy to forget. Not overly salty. Just full of great flavor and fantastically cooked proteins. At the end, they surprised us with an anniversary dessert. Truly magical! While it is more adventurous, don't let "African" make you think you won't like it. Take the risk!
