Amazing hot chicken po boy. Curly fries were to die for!! Great customer service would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. My father also had the chicken and sausage gumbo which he thoroughly enjoyed. 5/5 🙌🏽
By far the best food at the marketplace. These are family recipies from one of the best food areas in the country. You cannot miss with anything on the menu and we have had it all. Our favorites are the crayfish, shrimp po boy, hot chicken po boy, and of course the smash burger. The chef takes his time and go's for perfection with every single dish. Be patient. You do not want to rush things (not that he will be rushed quality is most important to this guy). This food is a step above the rest. Try it and you will be hooked.
I tried to find an email address so I could write directly, but didn't see one anywhere.
We have been 3 or 4 times to get beignets and every time they are too dark on the outside. Generally they still taste ok, maybe a little too crispy but ok. Today our 2nd batch was just not good. I could see the color being almost black, and took one bite that was not good. I have had many beignets from different places (including cafe du monde) in addition to many attempts at cooking myself. The outside should have a golden brown color (not dark brown to black,) and shouldn't result in a crispy outer texture. I think oil temp is too high. When returning this batch I told the girl at the register. She seemed to think the color was fine, and asked if I bit into it and was it soft in the middle. Well yeah, it was soft in the middle, but the outside was too thick and chewy and had a burnt flavor. I'm not sure how you can see that dark of a product and cover it with sugar and send out to a customer. Would like to see them revise their technique so I have a place nearby to get an adequate beignet.....hope they look into it. Also disappointing that when I ordered 2 orders, I received one order but the other didn't come for another 15 minutes.
P.S. What is it about the marketplace in general that doesn't bring napkins with the food. ESPECIALLY beignets. Fortunately I have experienced that enough that as soon as the beignets were dropped off, thats the 1st thing I looked for and had the runner go back for. But if you don't catch it fast, you''ll have to make a trip back inside yourself to hunt down some napkins.
I work upstairs and often indulge myself with their crawfish étouffée. To die for!
Louisiana hot chicken Po' Boy is awesome.
