Definitely not authentic Mexican food. Being Mexican myself, I sometimes like to compare and find places that have flavors as close to home as possible. I gave this place a bit of a high hope as it looks pretty authentic from the outside and in. But when I saw the menu I questioned it a bit. Nonetheless I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I totally understand that in downtown prices are a bit higher than in other areas, but this is ridiculous! It's almost $5 for one beef tongue taco! They add all these crazy ingredients like tomatoes, sour cream and shredded cheese on what are supposed to be "authentic tacos" (only onions, cilantro & lime is supposed to be on there). Also, the tortillas were not even heated. It's like they took the tortilla out the package, slapped the meat and a load of condiments on, and called it a day. I also ordered tamales, which were served cold. The tamales did taste good so kudos to that. All in all, it wasn't a terrible experience but I guess I had gotten my hopes to high after reading all the other good reviews. I don't think i'll be coming back. Just not worth the price.

It was a nice surprise to see that this location opened back up! I ordered chicken tacos and churros today for lunch and it reminded me how much I missed them! Great portions and awesome flavors!

After a devastating kitchen fire closed the restaurant for a year and a half, Tacos El Ranchos has reopened! There’s new flooring, new equipment and a fresh coat of paint. The floor plan is (mostly) the same, and so is the good food. Prices have gone up a bit due to inflation but items are still affordable. Whether you go for takeout or dine-in, wear a mask.

We will never get tired of tacos like this. The flavors are fully developed and obviously fresh. The made from scratch vibe here is perfect placement downtown. Simple foods, robust flavors, quick service, great value. No pretending. The soft drink and beer selection puts every visit over the top for satisfaction.
