We visited for the first time today.
My breakfast was great but my wife's didn't turn out as ordered. All in all it was a good experience in a nice environment. Quick fast service at a decent price.
Excellent local dining at Pass A Grille. Clean setting, delicious food and interesting decorations. I had the Cuban Combo (Half sandwich, beans and rice) and Key Lime Pie for dessert. The Cajun Shrimp and Grits that my companion had was also tasty. There are flowers and a view of the Intercoastal Waterway. The beach is a few blocks walk nearby.
I wish this place were better for lunch. We had been for breakfast early in 2018 and enjoyed it very much. Lunch, however, was at best adequate, and our experience was marred by extremely slow service. The real problem arose when, after we had already waited longer than one would have expected (it was not a busy afternoon), the waiter came and told us that they were out of what my wife had ordered. So, she ordered something else, and we waited some more.
This place has a great atmosphere--it's a real slice of old Florida. However, it's probably best to stick to breakfast.
I had my first visit today on the recommendation of local friends while I was in town. This restaurant was exactly what I was looking for: authentic great food in a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. My breakfast was excellent (I’d never had “Cuban toast” before). The grits are excellent also! The restaurant staff were excellent, quick and friendly. Being originally from Florida, this was a nice treat!
Our favorite breakfast spot when in the area. Superb location. Indoor and outdoor dining. Lots of local history is highlighted throughout. And the selection of food is just fine. This is a classic old Florida restaurant.
