This was a fun place, we stopped by when we saw the shuffleboard courts and enjoyed the food as well. Decent pricing. My fried green tomato BLT was missing its bacon and I didn’t even notice til I let my husband have a bite and he pointed it out. That’s a good sandwich if you don’t even notice the missing bacon! (I’m a little miffed we got charged for a sandwich with missing bacon, though.) My husband’s The Thing sandwich was so good he’s still talking about it.
On the down side, our server was in a BAD mood. Servers are human, too, and allowed to have bad days, but she did put a damper on our meal and the service was very slow. Otherwise we loved this place and the food. I do wonder how hot it will be in the summer time since it’s all open air... get some good fans!
New place is open and is really nice. From Urban Mac 'N' Cheese to the Holy mother Clucker you can't go wrong choosing any menu item in my experience. Good brews, too.
Was there for the grand reopening today, and loved the merger of BBQ and Comfort. The decor of the planters and outside bar was a great fit. The food was amazing like usual and love the hybrid menu. Definitely worth a trip.
UPDATE: THEY ARE MOVING OUT OF THIS LOCATION ON CENTRAL AVENUE ON 23 DECEMBER 2018.
A great place for Bar-B-Q and a beer! They have a good menu and they have specials on the chalkboard that are always good and interesting. The staff is very helpful with beer selections. They even have a very tasty Root Beer. If you are in the area, stop by. Check out the bathrooms which are decorated in an eclectic way.
I was really excited to try this place because southern food is right up my wheelhouse. I've eaten it my whole life. I'd heard such good things about the chicken and waffles that I knew I just had to try it.
From the moment we walked in, I knew I loved the setup. It was very industrial, but had a quaint vibe to it - almost as if you were in a lofty apartment that used to be a factory.
We ordered the chicken and waffles and I was very underwhelmed. The chicken was too crispy where you didn't really get much meat on it. It also didn't have hardly any seasoning on it, so it just tasted like crispy chicken. I needed some spice or herbs or sauce or something! The waffles were a bit dry and again, not much flavor to them as well.
Overall, we haven't been back here since. It's not that it was bad, but it just wasn't very exciting. It didn't make me HAVE to come back here.
