This place is straight up delicious. The ox tail stew was on point. One of the few places i go to frequently.

BEST CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT IN TAMPA! Sorry this place didn’t have more reviews, it’s definitely the best in Tampa if you’re looking for the authentic Jamaican flavor!!! The stewed oxtail, curry goat, the peas and rice, the pepper sauce!!!

    BEST CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT IN TAMPA!

We are visiting from Trinidad and this food made me feel like I was home! Was in downtown St.Pete and happened to find this gem. I had the curry chicken and my wife had the stew oxtail! Huge portions and super tasty food. Friendly caribbean vibes in store too! Thanks so much

Food is incredibly tasty and authentic. HUGE portion sizes, enough for dinner, lunch and dinner again for me. Very fast with pick up orders. I will for sure eat here again and recommend this place to others!

Well I'm sold! Pictured is their regular sized order of brown stew chicken. I made 3 lunches out of it and I don't consider myself to necessarily be a light eater. I happen to make this dish really well so I think my critique holds some weight: it's on the more savory side for a brown stew. There's usually a hint of sweetness to it in my experience (it almost always contains brown sugar or honey, and tomato paste or ketchup), BUT it's fantastic quality!! It looks like they use chicken thighs and yet there wasn't a hint of fat or skin to be found. Good job there!! There's nothing more gross than biting into squishy fat or skin. The vegetable blend that came with it was really good too. There was cabbage, carrots, onions, and bell peppers in there. The rice was fresh and fluffy and the plantains were as well without a hint of greasiness. Obviously I was impressed! I'm from a part of Northern Miami that has a large Caribbean population so I've eaten a lot of this kind of food and Calabash stands out for the quality of the food and friendly service.
