Mangrove Bay and Cypress Links Golf Courses

It's been quite a few years since I played golf in Florida. I've played twice this trip and I have to say that Mangrove Bay was in much better condition than the more expensive track I played. The course had decent tees, fairways, and roughs and very good greens. They were receptive and rolled well. I'd play again.

This is the very best public golf course in the Tampa Bay area. Jeff Hollis, Director of Golf has been here for 35 years and has things well in hand. The practice facilities consist of a large driving range, large green for wedge shots and sand shots as well as a large putting green and an additional chipping green. The greens we replaced 2 years ago with a special grass and they are very smooth and receptive to shots. The staff is friendly and courteous. This is a busy course, especially early and on the weekends. I'd recommend making an advanced tee time which can done 1 week in advance.
